Based on the differences between "jargon" and "slang" and the characteristics of the "language of young people", this paper is an attempt to prove that the language of young people today is a form of jargon rather than that of slang. This form of jargon is used only in communication between young people who are peers, in the context of irregular or informal and unorganized communication. In linguistics, the problems of standard and standardizing languages are posed only for regular, formal and organized communication; they are not posed for the "language of young people". If anything, the problems that may be posed for communication between young people using this form of jargon should be in the form of recommendations; young people should use their jargons within appropriate scope, appropriate contexts, and for appropriate purposes of communication from which this form of jargon comes into being.
