This article aims at investigating some techniques in teaching English to primary students so as to improve their English speaking skill. In order to find suitable teaching techniques, questionnaries for both teachers and students are given, word games are also applied to make students feel enjoyable to speak.

In teaching Chinese as a foreign language,with no classification system to help teachers and students select extracurricular reading materials,extracurricular reading has almost become a " blind zone",which directly affects students’ s learning interest and study effect.The present study proposes that China should learn from the foreign reading level approach,conduct systematic and scientific research on reading classification,and work out scientific rating standards,so as to integrate international students’ extracurricular reading into the classroom teaching system,which will play a crucial role in improving students’ Chinese proficiency.This paper also introduces the "Economic Reading Rating Framework"in Chinese Reading Action Guide for International Students,to seek advice.
