This paper describes and discusses two kinds of style "suiran P,dan shi Q"sentence in terms of pragmatics. Conclusion is that the patterns of pragmatic conditions should include the pragmatic intention,the information provided above,P and Q sub types and arrangement,sentence and the semantic relationship of the above and other factors. However,various factors inside on the frequency there are different degrees of difference. The author believes that this is a result of the combined action of various factors. With different style of writing intentions,the intention of writing characteristics,patterns of use,express emphasis,expression and discourse coherence methods have different degree of relationship.

This study investigates the activation of word class information in speech production by native speakers of Chinese vis-a-vis Indo-European speakers with advanced Chinese proficiency.In three sets of experiments,the two groups were assigned the tasks of using words and phrases to name pictures.The results show that the native speakers of Chinese,when generating words under the circumstances of lexical semantics,were able to activate word class information in speech production,while advanced non-native speakers were unable to do so.When generating phrases with the structures such as"verb+guo(过)"and"verb+le(了)",the native speakers of Chinese were able to activate word class information according to the syntactic restrictions of such structures;in contrast,advanced non-native Chinese speakers were unable to conduct the activation due to the lack of syntax knowledge and language using experience.It is then suggested that word class information plays a certain role in Chinese language production.On the basis of this finding,Chinese language study should approach word class information from multiple perspectives,and Chinese language education be more concerned about the effectiveness and diversity of word class information teaching.

Deeply latent semantic relations of verb-object structures in Chinese are of various occasions.It is proved in empirical studies in this paper that semantic relations of verb-object structures impact foreign learners’ acquisition of the structures,manifesting as a sequence of recipient,location,tool and agent,and that the sequence is unrelated to the background of the foreign learners’ mother tongues and their learning phases.

This paper aims to examine the topical relationships of a combined structure consisting of two clauses,including those between the animate levels and semantics of the topics of the two clauses.It has two findings: Firstiy,in regarding to animate levels,this combined structure shares the same features with a topical chain: the structure composed of two clauses on higher animate levels is also prevalent in discourse. Secondly, among all those semantic relationships between the topics of the two clauses,the relationships of framework-item and temporary relevance are more prevalent,and their prevalence varies with different discourses.
