In Thai ethnic language, nouns which indicate family relationship - kinship are used not only by people in the family but also by people who do not have relative relationship to communicate in social life. This form of address has a strong and effective expressive meaning. When we carry out a research into the style of addressing in Thai families, we will study the form of address in every relation, such as between husband and wife, parents and children, brothers and sisters, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and other members in the family. Through the study, we hope to introduce a general but vivid and specific description of the form of address in Thai families.

The toponymes in Dien Bien province are mainly originated from the Vietnamese language, the national language and Thai language, the most commonly used local vernacular. As a result, many Thai toponymes have been Vietnamized. The analysis of currently used toponymes showed that one and the same toponyme may have different writings and there is a need to standardize these toponymes.

Through this borrowing process, Thai people created many kids of borrowing methods and rules, from simply depicting to diversed phonetic Pali-Sankrit language, the modern Thai language tends to replace Englih words by Thai Pali-Sanskrit words. However, Thai scholars to day still interject English words in to Thai speaking language. Especially, although Thai people use a lot of Englihs words, they still express these words in Thai writing.
