Du Yaquan’s new culture vision,is a concrete application of the doctrine of the mean thought on cultural issues.He explains the rationality of a middle course by using the power balance principle in physics,and thinks that so-callednew culture"is just the Third Culture by means of reconciliation between the ancient and modern,Chinese and the foreign.In the three groups,the subject should be as I,today,and the object should be as West,ancient, which cannot be reversed. He also proposes cooperation,continuation doctrine and pluralism,as the basic principle of dealing with cultural problems.Although Dus culture exploration has certain rationality which enriches the connotation of new culture,there exist a lot of problems,therefore needing to be viewed dialectically.

"Toppling down Chinese tradition in an uncompromising way"has long been viewed as either an unprecedented achievement or an incomparable guilt in May-4th New Culture Movement. However,a closer look at history can enable us to conclude that "toppling down Chinese tradition in an uncompromising way"may be traced back to as early as the A-Hundred-Day Reform Movement,and took its shape around the Revolution of 1911. May-4th New Culture Movement has been acclaimed as the matrix of the following five arguments: China had for thousands of years a dark history of autocratic rule by the emperors; the national character with servility of the Chinese people was necessarily to be transformed; personal emancipation should be upheld; Confucianism must be completely devalued; and the Chinese people should be enlightened with democracy and science. As a matter of fact,these arguments were thoroughly worked on in the period between the A-Hundred-Day Reform Movement and the Revolution of 1911. As the earliest social thoughts in colonial-era China,May-4th New Culture Movement contributed nothing but to broaden the arguments,and incorporated them into a social movement. Only by embedding these social thoughts into social movements can we better understand their matrix and significance

Many researchers studied and debated about the expression issues in Mandarin,Chinese characters and Chinese language during the time of the New Culture Movement.These explorations have not only become a great impetus for the reform of Chinese characters,but also enriched the connotation and cultural awareness of the New Culture Movement in the transformation of articles and words writing.From the perspective of the history of a nation,language and words is a changing system but also follow their internal prescriptive nature.But more importantly,they are the products of cultural accretion throughout history.
