重视理论创新与理论指导是中国共产党的一个根本特点，重视在思想上建党是党的一条重要经验。中国共产党建党之初由于理论准备不足和经验缺乏，对理论创新和党的指导思想存在认识偏差，给党的事业带来重大损失。在深刻总结失败和挫折教训的基础上，中国共产党的几代领导人以高度的理论自觉和自信，把马克思主义基本原理同中国实际和时代特征结合起来，推进实践基础上的理论创新，形成了毛泽东思想、邓小平理论、“三个代表”重要思想和科学发展观等理论创新成果，实现了党的指导思想与时俱进，开拓了马克思主义在中国的新境界。

This paper first looks into the way Chinese scholars have been addressing central issues in the theorization of translation, such as how translation should be redefined and what functions theorizing should be counted on to perform. The authors then propose a new framework within which to explain the developmental phases of translation theories. Suggestions are also offered for remedying existing problems and stimulating theoretical innovation in China’s translation studies.
