中国澳门特区中文平面媒体中字母词的规范研究 = Research on the Norms of Letter Word Usage in Chinese Print Media in Macao / 袁伟.

Based on a survey on the use of letter words in Chinese print media in Macao,the paper puts forward proposals on normalizing the usage from the perspectives of the instrumental and cultural attributes of language. It is suggested that the standardization of letter words should be conducted hierarchically by phases; relevant laws and regulations should be made; linguistic departments should be established in the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture in Macao; code of conduct for Chinese print media should be formulated and Chinese translations of letter words should be promoted; academic research and translations of letter words should be pushed forward; and the public’s awareness on the language specification should beraised.
