The clearest characteristics of character’s language in the novel of Chu Lai is the system of colloquial words appearing repeatedly, with word frequency used many times in dialogues (personal pronouns, obscene words, abusing words). The dialogue with colloquial words contributed to creation of the characteristics of the soldier and the style ot writer in works about the soldier.

Although Thailand does not bored with Vietnam, there are still many similar natural and social features as both countries are member of ASEAN in Southest Asia. Studying Thai’s clture or Thai’s culture or Thai’s proverbs and idioms will help students understand more thoroughly about Thai people and its country. Through Thai’s proverbs an idioms, we will know more about their friendliness, kindness, good behavior and flexibility but sometimes untruthfulness. This will help us behave in a suitable way when we communicate or work with Thai people.

There are two ways to write uơ and ua in some Vietnamese words such as thuở/ thủa; khươ/ khua ;huơ/hua. The article points out the reasons why they exist and provideg g further analyses of each specific case. To avoid inconsistency in the whole phonetic system, the article suggests to write only as thủa, khua, hua instead of thuở, khuơ, huơ.
