// Journal of Huazhong normal University. Vol.54, No.3(2015) 2015.170-176 p. The German famous philosopher and psychologist Husserl,inherited Brentano’s empirical descriptive psychology by expanding and applying it to the arithmetic field during his early philosophical career.After some reflection in the following years,he proposed a new three-dimensional intentional structure model,making a clear distinction between conscious content and conscious object,classifying conscious act and conscious content as mental phenomenon,and classifying conscious object as physical phenomenon.Based upon this new intentional structure model,he proposed his essential descriptive psychology. He established the basic status of descriptive psychology from the standpoint of human science and committed himself to studying what is idealized and universalized beyond concrete mental experience by the descriptive method of essential intuition,in order to make descriptive psychology a rigorous and exact Wesenswissenschaft.Husserl’s essential descriptive psychology and Brentano’s empirical descriptive psychology came down in one continuous line on the whole,and the former broke out of and transcended the latter on some basic propositions and concrete ideas,having powerfully inherited and developed the rigorous scientific tradition of descriptive psychology.

论无理数的哲学意义——基于柏拉图和胡塞尔的研究 = The Philosophical Meaning of Irrational Number: A Finding Based upon the Thinking Paths of Plato and Husserl / FANG Xiang-hong.

The emergence of irrational number disintegrates the unity between arithmetic,geometry and cosmology forged by Pythagoras,and induces Plato to distinct the number itself from the object counted,so as to discover,to some extent,the nonexistence of visible objects and the existence of invisible objects,and to put forward the theory of separating the sensible world from the intellectual one,thus named as [WTBX]doxa[WTBZ]and [WTBX]alethia. [WTBZ]It can be said that the irrational number gives rise to Plato’s "soul turning". The emergence of irrational number also breaks up the Ideal of E. Husserl,who,as a mathematical doctor,seeks to understand the process of counting number and re-establish the subject of arithmetic,which makes Husserl recognize such characters as the separable and the precedent of general objects,including numbers related to concrete objects,so as to come up with a theory of phenomenological reduction,which is actually the soul turning in modern sense.
