大数据下建国以来武汉人名面面观 = Research on the Names of Wuhan Citizens Since the Foundation of the PRC with Big Data / 王芳.

The paper divides the 65 yearssince the founding of the PRCinto five historical periods,and makes a statistical analysis ofthe names of Wuhan citizens during the five periods with the technical mean of Name Usage Survey Software. It is found that the names are endowed withdistinct characteristics of the times and the regions; the forms ofnames in terms of length,or number of characters,namely the name composed of only one character ortwo charactersexcept for the character( s) of the surname, have experienced a balance between alternative growths and declines; the meanings of names have shifted from social political connotations to connotations with good hopes; most names contain distinctive gender differences. Duplication of names in the five periods reflects the convergence of Wuhan citizens’ social values.
