"就是……也/都……"结构在量级标示上有三种不同的作用,即表量成分的凸显、非量成分的量化和空间域量级到事件量级的投射。"就是……也/都……"结构通常通过对量级序列中具有最高或较高情理值的事物或事件的否定,来对这个序列中的某个点或全量进行否定;通过对量级序列中具有最低或较低情理值的事物或事件的肯定,来对这个序列中某个点或全量进行肯定。情理值、语言使用中的语用等级是该结构标示量级功能形成的语义认知基础和语用诱因。

Ellipsis is a phenomenon that has many linguists interested in Vietnamese language. However, Vietnamese linguists research ellipsis from structural and formal perspective. In our opinion, an ellipsis is a syntactic variant. This variant is affected by functions, as: emphasizing important information (focus), expressing the attitude of the speaker, and maintaining coherence of utterances in discourse. This article will discuss this phenomenon by explanation them from functional perspective.

Based on propp’s theory, this paper presents the results of the contrastive analysis on 10 English fairy tales and 10 Vietnamese ones in order the highlight their layout features as well as the similarities and differences between the two languages in termof this genre. Approaching the English and Vietnamese fairy tales as written texts – the products of discourse processes, the paper focuses on idetifying the spectific functions of the objects under study with a view to helping language teachers and learners understand more about the discourse features of fairy tales in English and in Vietnamese.The findingd of the study can be applied in researching, teaching and learning the two languages.

The change of function and meaning of commonly used words in to terminology is one of the ways to establish the Vietnamese terminology system. This occurs in three types of Vietnamese word class (noun, verb and adjective) in which the noun occupies the highest rate. Through this process, new terms are effectively and economically created. This then allows for the enrichment and expansion of Vietnamese vocabulary.
