The wave of globalization and the economic progress of China in recent years have sparked a strong international interest in the Chinese language.As the promotion of Chinese as a second language hinges on the training of graduate students majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(TCSOL),related training programs have been provided on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.The Chinese academia started to offer a master’s degree of TCSOL(MTCSOL)since 2007,while the first graduate institute in TCSOL(the Taiwanese equivalent of MTCSOL)was established in Taiwan as early as 1995.National Taiwan Normal University(NTNU)enjoys much prestige by offering quality training in Chinese as a second language and TCSOL at its Mandarin Training Center and Department of Chinese as a Second Language.Over the years,NTNU has established itself as one of the most important destinations for aspirants in TCSOL.In light of the growing significance of Chinese teaching,this study is aimed at comparing the graduate training programs provided by the Department of Chinese as a Second Language of NTNU and by the universities in the mainland of China.By conducting this study,the researchers intend to compare the programs across the Taiwan Strait in terms of training objectives,course designs,credit assignments,and teaching practices.By analyzing the characteristics as well as the pros and cons of the graduate training in TCSOL offered in the mainland of China and Taiwan of China,the researchers hope to come up with constructive conclusions and suggestions,thereby contributing to the progress and the resource integration in the discipline of TCSOL across the Taiwan Strait

Based on analyzing the present situation of TCFL teachers by using quantitative analysis method, the author found that there are a lot of shortcomings and deficiencies of the TCFL teachers in Xinjiang universities both in quantity and quality. This paper conducted a survey on the model of teachers training and pointed out that there are many effective measures which can train teachers according to the diversified, multi-level demand for teachers,indicating that taking diversified teacher training and training pattern measures is the effective way to meet the diverse needs of teachers.
