Resulting from poets’ common awareness of rescuing the style of ci-poetry,preference to styles in the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties is an important theme of the ci-poetry theory in the Qing Dynasty. The discussion of this runs through the whole development of the Western Zhejiang School.Such extraordinary poets as Zhu Yizun,Li E,Wang Chang,Wu Xiqi and Guo Lin made great contributions to the theory development. The discussion on the preference to styles in the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties embodies the efforts made by these poets to capture the style of ci-poetry writing and the social morale of the time.As a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty and worshiped by the Western Zhejiang School,Jiang Kui is ultimately lifted up to the position of a sage in ci-poetry writing and creates a prominent literary phenomenon in the history of ci-poetry.The literary discussion of the preference to styles in the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties places virtually all kinds of ideas about ci-poetry in its wake in the Qing Dynasty.
