Researches on the semantic understanding of the structure "NP1+(de)+NP2" have been conducted from different theoretical perspectives. However, there is some room to be explored further. The present article attempts to explore some relevant issues from the perspective of the Theory of Cognitive Scene(CS). The main viewpoints are as follows: the understanding of the structure involves the cognitive elements’ evoking by the relevant CS, esp. the central one. Our understanding of the structure depends on the compatibility of the elements evoked by different CSs and the degree of prominence of those elements per se. It is pointed out as well in this article that when more than one immediate semantic elements function as modifiers, the linear order of them depends on the semantic distance of the elements to the head NP

This paper focuses on the verbs"kun"and the like in Mandarin Chinese. A comprehensive description of the constructions,which are formed from those verbs,is given by the different arrangement of the various semantic elements. There are both similarities and dissimilarities among z a-constructions,kun-constructions and bang-constructions. It comes to the conclusion that the various semantic elements correspond to the cognitive factors evoked by the relevant cognitive scenes,and that those elements can be mapped on the syntactic structures,thus,different constructions are formed.
