// Tạp chí Khoa học Ngoại ngữ 2014, Số 39. 2014.tr. 49-55 Throughout the paper we introduce several theories and analysis of linguists such as Wardhough (1991) with his Contrastive Analysis, Corder (1991) with Error Analysis and Interlanguage and Errors Analysis of Fernández (1997), etc. and their roles in the process of acquiring a non-native language as well as to help analyze and describe the whole language of the student. Then we present some knowledge collected on the two aspects, error analysis and interlanguage in the acquisition of a foreign language, from the very theoretical point of view. Thanks to the work, it is possible to characterize the linguistic system used by the learner, make assumptions about the learning process, and discover its causes and know the strategies used by students in this procedure. The need now is to differentiate these theories and studies and to use its results as a basis for learning and teaching a foreign language.
