Hình thái tế bào và một vài hình thức sinh sản ở Melosira moniliformis (Müll.) Agardh. / Võ Thị Ngọc Thành, Lê Thị Trung.
// Tạp chí Khoa học. 2014, Số 58 (92). 2014tr. 80-88. Melosira moniliformis distribute throughout the seas of the world. They serve as nutrient source for oysters and mussels. Observation under optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM), cell morphology, cell wall structure of Silica and other forms of reproduction of this species are described. The surface cell is characterized by many motifs and rimoportulae. Valve mantle (Silica cell walls) comprises of a series of closed polygonal pseudoloculi. In normal conditions, cells divide principally asexually, through mitosis. The neosynthesis of one valve is always the smaller one which results in one of the two daughter cell s decreasing in size. Once a critical size is reached, cell restores the maximal cell size by auxospores and resting spores.
