// Ngôn ngữ. 2014, Số 7 (302). 2014tr. 49-57. Tourism terms in English and Vietnamese are very much similar in terms of frequencies in parts of speech. Most of them are nouns/ noun phrases, the numbers of verbs/ verb phrases as well as adjectives/ adjective phrases are very small. This is completely appropriate given the features of parts of speech in the two languages. Besides, there are certain similarities and differences in term of structures between English and Vietnamese tourism terms. English tourism terms consist of single terms, derivative terms, compound terms, acronyms and collocation terms. Vietnamese tourism terms also consist of single terms, compound terms and collocation terms but there are no acronyms. These are regulated by the features of Vietnamese and English language forms.
