The article focuses on researching and analyzing the significant phonetic characteristics of Chinese interjections in contract to Vietnamese ones. Through the analysis of practical examples using the Praat software, the article has proved thats the tones of Chinese and Vietnamese interjections are peculiar, which are very fifferent from the tones of other kinds of words in the same language system. When used in the utterance, under the influence of intonation, the tone of interjections in the Chinese and Vietnamese language can create different variations. Accordingly, the article also proposes a number of applications relating to the phonetic characteristics in the teaching of Chinese interjection.

In this article, the authors have studied the effects of pitch and pitch contours of Vietnamese tones (in terms of frequencies and progression of the fundamental frequency F0) to the formant structure of 3 vowels [I, u, ɯ] to provide the acoustic parameters of this vowels in relation with tones. The research results could be applied to improve the quality of synthesis systems for Vietnamese and the identification of Vietnamese speakers.

The author of this article – The falling tone in English performed by the Speakers of Hanoi and the equivalent expressions in Vietnamese – especially deals with the communicative value of intonation in English in general, and its falling tone in particular from contrastive linguistics perspectives (that is to show come differences rather than similarities) which what we have called the equivalent expressions both verbal and non – verbal in Vietnamese by the speakers native speakers such as the speakers of Hanoi. In terms of prosodic events, it is said to be one of the rather difficult issues for the non – native speakers such as the speakers of Hanoi to have a good command of English because of the abstract features of its own intonation in general and its falling tone in particular.
