Begun in 1992 in Vietnam, the Bilingual Francophone Program currently needs to be renovated on a pedagogical level, in order to make French classes more attractive and dynamic, as well as to find suitable materials for teaching. The image in general and the fixed image in particular, not being a new pedagogical tool and presenting itself in quantity in the French textbooks, would be one of the effective and inexpensive means from the financial point of view to answer this requirement. In the context of this article, we firstly present a global vision on the evolution of the fixed image in pedagogy and secondly the determination of the functions of this visual support in relation to the taught contents, for its suitable and effective use in the context of the bilingual Vietnamese-French program.
