《世界语言结构图册》把汉语普通话、韩语、日语都列为没有完成体构式的语言,原因在于Dahl&Velupillai(2013)用结果性和经历性两种用法来界定完成体。这与现有的时体类型学研究在结论和方法上均不一致。从跨语言的角度看,完成体主要有5种具有语用性质的用法,这些用法在北京话5个完成体形式上的分合形成了编码上的区别。本文用语义地图的方式呈现了这5个完成体形式的功能切分。这些语义地图较Bybee et al.(1994)的完成体的语法化路径更为细致,但比Anderson(1982)的完成体的语义空间更为简洁。

This study compares Chinese and English on a developmental scale,utilizing four different age groups to examine the developmental trend of the perfective aspect used under narrative conditions.Results show that 1)the developmental trends differ greatly,with the usage by English subjects dropping substantially until the age of about 8years,while the usage of"le"by Chinese subjects increasing exponentially across the four age groups in a low percentage;2)the major differences across the two languages,particularly in the developmental trends,are believed to be influenced by the existent differences between them,with aspectual markers being optional under certain circumstances in Chinese,but not in English.Some of the existing differences result from the differences in grammar and form in the two languages.

On the basis of analyzing four models of verb-final le(了)and sentence-final le,this paper adopts the Multifunctional Model in typology to analyze the tense and aspectual meaning of le.It asserts that both verb-final le and sentence-final le have typical aspectual functions of Completive,Perfect,Perfective,and tense and aspectual function of Present state.Sentence-final le also has the function of Immediate future.This paper constructs a diachronic evolution path from completive,perfect to perfective and related functions.It also demonstrates the effectiveness and conciseness of the Multifunctional Model from the crosslinguistic perspective.
