Using the Yuan Dynasty "Encyclopedia"Tao Zongyi"Farming in Nan Village" as the text,the author analyzed word syllable distribution and made detailed list so as to study the ratio of monosyllabic word and polysyllabic word,the way the words formed and their development.By exploring the new meaning of new words in"Farming in Nan Village",the author aims to assess the corpus value,to provide reference for revealing the characteristics and rules of lexical development.

Like other communication etiquettes such as greeting, leave-talking,thanking and apologizing, introduction etiquette is also a speech, therefor, apart from the characteristics that are universal and common for every language, the etiquette of introductions has its own properties associated with the specific characteristics of language-culture of each ethnic group and each nation. In this arcle, we initially investigate some lingual characteristics of introduction etiquette in American English through the use of full name.

This article describes the semantic characteristics of final modal particles in utterances used to ask in communication of the people in Thanh Hoa. We have indicated that there are a large number of final modal particles in utterances used to ask in communication of the people in Thanh Hoa and they have a both similar and different semantic characteristics in comparison with final modal ones in Vietnamese used by the whole people. They contribute to make the characteristics about tone and shade of meaning in communication for the people in Thanh Hoa.
