Les modulateurs d’assertion en français et en japonais du point de vue de la constructionnalisation / Simon Tuchais // Langages Nº 220 (4/2020)
Paris : Armand Colin, 2020
p. 43-64

A class of assertion modulators, such as je crois in French and to omou in Japanese, plays a similar role in both languages of indicating the expression of a personal opinion. This study examines the relation between their syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic characteristics from the perspective of constructionalization (Traugott & Trousdale 2013). For both languages, the findings support the hypothesis of such a process, while showing differences that relate mainly to the sentence structure in both languages.
