Tóm tắt
| Interjections play an important role in communication, especially in oral channel. Primary interjections are typical and representative of interjections in all languages as they have a wide range of meanings and functions. As primary interjections are not natural sounds, language learners need to develop their understanding and knowledge if interjections, particularly primary interjections of the target language. In the present paper, reproductive paraphrasing approach is employed to investigate EFL learners’ ability to identify meanings and functions of 10 common English interjections. The findings suggest that it is essential to integrate the instruction of interjections into the teaching and learning English as a foreign language. | |
