| This paper studies the translation programs funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities since 1980.The study reveals that 1252 translation programs in 43 different categories have been funded,covering 142 different languages and 91 different disciplines.It is concluded that the American translation policy,characterized by covering a large number of languages,broad ranged text types and diversified funding approaches,offers a good reference for China to formulate its translation policy to strengthen Chinese language and culture power. | |
