In the trade marl, the place name could only be the name of product,but its role become very sighficant when it is related to a geographical instruction, an elemen constiluting the value of the product.This paper suggests some recommendations emphasizing the role of the priducers, the consumers and the authorities in market management and in appraising the quality of product to protect the value of the place name attached to trade mark.
