Foreign languages are necessary for all generations, especially the young, in the era of international and regional integration. Each language has its own position in the social life (most clearly reflected in education).Vietnam is a multi-ethnic nation with cultural diversity. The choice of a foreign language needs to be situated not only in the relation with other foreign languages and the national language, but each foreign language needs to be placed in the relation with the languages of other ethnic moritities in the country, especially with neighbor languages. These are the three correlations which should be given due attention in the suggestion of a language policy in general, and a foreign language policy in particular, so that Vietnam can befriend with all countries and this country can move towards the status of multi languages in cultural diversity.
