The clearest characteristics of character’s language in the novel of Chu Lai is the system of colloquial words appearing repeatedly, with word frequency used many times in dialogues (personal pronouns, obscene words, abusing words). The dialogue with colloquial words contributed to creation of the characteristics of the soldier and the style ot writer in works about the soldier.

Colloquial language is a means of communication whichs is only suitable for daily activities, with flippant, even crude nature. Thus, colloquial does nothave the dilicacy and creativity in choosing and using it. However, in Vòng tròn bội bạc (Crircle of Betrayals), Chu Lai used a fairly large number of colloquial worls and achieverd the valuable aesthetic effects when recreating the reality of life as well as the character’s personality.
