// 汉语学习 No.2/2018 tr.3-14 This paper first identifies some problems that analysts may encounter in working with information structure. It then tries to clarify some confusion that often arises with regard to the similarities and differences between information, topic, focus and other related notions. It finally demonstrates how the selection of topic form, topic chain organization and focus marking may interact to produce the final grammatical/rhetorical form of a discourse segment.
