// Tạp chí Khoa học Ngoại Ngữ Số 59/2019 (Tháng 10/2019) tr.91-101 Apostrophes have a particular meaning in the system of speech styles of any language and, to a certain extent, they determine the communicative process. This article focuses on contrasting between forms of apostrophe in Russian and Vietnamese. On the basis of the identified similarities and differences as well as examples from translated literary works, the article analyzes the characteristics of translating different forms of Russian addressing into Vietnamese, taking into account the communicative situations and the features of expressions to address in the Vietnamese language. It concludes that transcription / transliteration is the most common way of translating Russian apostrophes into Vietnamese.
